Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, certified Marine Technician to diagnose, service, and repair inboard and outboard marine engines and related systems across a diverse fleet. This is a hands-on role for a skilled professional who takes pride in first-rate workmanship and thrives in a busy, seasonal marine environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience working with boat engines, propulsion systems, and related equipment. Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on boats and marine engines
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on marine vessels
- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble engine components
- Replace worn or damaged parts to ensure optimal vessel performance
- Conduct water tests to verify repairs and ensure safety standards are met
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely
Qualifications
- Mercury/Volvo Penta certification and/or Suzuki / Yamaha certification.
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands on experience in marine repair preferred
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
- Experience with power tools including drills, grinders, and saws is highly desirable
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Prior experience working on marine engines or vessels
