Position Overview
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join their Maintenance team on the night shift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical systems and industrial equipment to support continuous plant operations. This role requires strong diagnostic abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Install new electrical systems, equipment, and components including wiring, conduits, switches, motors, and control panels.
- Perform preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues and equipment malfunctions using schematics, diagrams, and testing equipment.
- Work with PLC systems and electrical controls to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Repair or replace defective electrical components including wiring, circuit breakers, fuses, relays, motors, and sensors.
- Upgrade and modify existing electrical systems to improve efficiency and operational reliability.
- Test and calibrate electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation accurately.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to support plant operations and maintenance initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, inspections, and installations.
- Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns and electrical failures to minimize production interruptions.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company safety policies, electrical codes, and industry regulations.
- Support and mentor apprentices or junior electricians when required.
- Stay current with industry best practices, technological advancements, and safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar industrial electrician role.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems related to electrical functions.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer skills considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload efficiently.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.

Experience & Certifications
