Job Overview
Excalibur Sharpening & Supply is a Canadian wholesale supplier of professional dog grooming equipment and supplies. We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable individual to join our team as a Sharpener.
Our sharpening department primarily services the professional dog grooming industry, sharpening clipper blades and grooming shears for customers across Canada. We also sharpen kitchen knives and a variety of other specialty tools.
Previous sharpening experience is an asset but not required. We provide comprehensive, hands-on training for the right candidate. Experience in the pet grooming industry or working with grooming tools is also considered an asset.
Duties
- Sharpen professional dog grooming clipper blades and grooming shears
- Sharpen kitchen knives and other specialty tools as required
- Inspect tools before and after sharpening to ensure quality workmanship
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail
- Keep detailed records of completed work
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Work closely with the customer service and shipping teams to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
- Follow established sharpening procedures and quality standards
Requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to perform precise, repetitive tasks
- Ability to learn new skills and follow detailed processes
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in the pet grooming industry or sharpening is an asset but not required
