Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve equipment and facility systems within our food manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems, along with excellent troubleshooting, organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
This position requires someone who enjoys a diverse workload and takes pride in maintaining both the equipment and the facility to a high standard, recognizing that every task, large or small, contributes to the overall success of the business.
This role is supported by a dedicated Maintenance Coordinator who manages purchasing, invoicing, contractor coordination, work order scheduling, and other administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on maintaining and improving our operation. Our maintenance department also utilizes a comprehensive preventative maintenance program that digitally houses equipment records, manuals, vendors, inventory, purchasing, and recurring preventative maintenance schedules.
We also provide a fully equipped, dedicated maintenance shop with all the tools and equipment needed to do the job right. Agreed-upon schedule flexibility to assist in completing maintenance tasks is an available option as well.
Exerience working in a food manufacturing environment is considered an asset but is not required. The successful candidate will be willing to follow food safety, sanitation, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements. Training will be provided as needed.
Starting Wage $38-50 depending on experience and qualifications
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs in a food safe manner on production equipment and facility infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation systems to minimize or negate downtime.
- Diagnose equipment issues and complete corrective repairs in a safe and timely manner.
- Fabricate, modify, and install equipment, guards, and support structures as required.
- Maintain building systems and perform general facility maintenance including routine upkeep.
- Oversee contractors for specialized repairs and capital projects as required.
- Support equipment installations, production line expansions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders within our CMMS
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with food safety, GMP, health & safety, and company policies.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Ticketed certification in an applicable trade is an asset, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and industrial automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings/schematics.
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment in an industrial environment.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work independantly.
- Comfortable performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks from complex equipment troubleshooting to routine facility maintenance.
- Ability to work independently or in team settings.
- Forklift, Electrical, Welding, HVAC, Boilermaker, or Millwright certifications are considered assets.
Pay: $38.00-$50.00 per hour
