Overview
We (SNA Construction Inc.) are seeking a skilled and dedicated Concrete Finishers to join our construction team (Multiple positions available). The ideal candidate will have a background in concrete finishing, masonry, and related trades, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This role involves working on various construction projects utilizing a range of hand tools and power tools. Candidates should possess excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the physical stamina necessary for heavy lifting and long hours on-site.
Responsibilities
- Finish concrete surfaces to specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
- Fill hollows and remove high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete.
- Operate power vibrator to compact concrete, power trowels and other finishing tools.
- Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Support formwork installation and stripping operations.
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete.
- Assist with rebar installation and other concrete construction tasks as required.
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures.
- Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate execution of projects.
- Maintain safety standards by recognizing hazards such as heavy lifting risks or unsafe equipment operation
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality workmanship
Requirements
- Completion of secondary school education.
- 2 to 3 years of work experience in concrete finishing, masonry, or related construction trades
- Knowledge of concrete forming techniques and rebar installation processes.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools safely.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics accurately
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or working at heights or on scaffolding
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse project environments
Pay: $28.00-$31.50 per hour
