Job Description
Misty Valley Growers is a commercial greenhouse operation specializing in the production of culinary herbs and specialty plants. We are seeking dependable Greenhouse Labourers to join our team and assist with the daily production, care, and preparation of greenhouse crops.
Responsibilities
- Plant seeds, rooted cuttings, and plugs according to production schedules
- Transplant seedlings and young plants into containers
- Water, fertilize, and care for greenhouse crops
- Monitor crop quality and report plant health concerns to supervisors
- Space, move, and organize plants throughout the greenhouse
- Harvest, pull, and prepare customer orders for shipment
- Pack, load, and unload plants and greenhouse materials
- Clean and maintain greenhouse work areas, equipment, and growing spaces
- Assist with general greenhouse production and nursery operations
Requirements
- No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Previous greenhouse, nursery, farm, or agricultural experience is an asset
- Training will be provided
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Basic English communication skills
Work Environment
- Greenhouse and nursery environment
- Hot, humid, wet/damp, and physically demanding conditions at times
- Standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks, and manual labour required
- Frequent bending, crouching, and lifting
- Ability to lift and carry up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
