There are many available positions in long term care for Licensed Practical Nurses who have a passion for working with seniors; or with home nursing, where you will provide care to people of all ages in their homes and other community settings.
In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, the LPN performs a wide variety of resident care functions within the scope of practice, code of ethics, and governing legislation. The LPN provides a leadership and supervisory role to the Continuing Care Attendant/Personal Care Worker.
Responsibilities:

Assisting clients with various personal care activities

Use of lifts and slings to transfer patients with a movement disorder

Administration of medication
-
Nighttime monitoring and assistance
-
Light housekeeping (Laundry, washing dishes, sweeping and wiping of surfaces)

Basic food prep of a blenderized feed for the clients

Outings in the community
-
Facilitation of community inclusion activities
Core Requirements:

Current Licensed (or eligible for license) with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses
