About Monologix
Monologix is a Canadian tech company building the all-in-one platform that powers outdoor education and activity bookings across North America. Founded in 2010 and ranked #17 on The Globe & Mail's Top Growing Canadian Companies (2024), we issue 250,000+ safety certifications a year and serve 400+ partners across 23 countries.
Our portfolio includes:
- SmartRez — our reservation and operations platform for tour, activity, and rental businesses
- BoatTests101, CanadaBoatSafety, DrivingTests101, Hunter Safety, ATV Safety, Snowmobile Safety — official, government-approved online education courses
We're profitable, growing fast, and now investing in design as a core function.
The Role
We're hiring our Product Designer to own the end-to-end experience across both sides of our business: the B2B operator tools (SmartRez dashboards, mobile app, waivers) and the B2C learner and booking experiences (course platforms, embedded checkout widgets, public-facing brand sites).
You'll report directly to the CTO and partner with engineering, product, and operations to ship work that thousands of operators and millions of end users actually touch. You won't be the tenth designer on a feature team — you'll set the visual language, build the design system, and define how our products feel.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end design for new features across SmartRez, our education brands, and Online Waiver Pro — from discovery through high-fidelity delivery
- Design booking and checkout flows with a relentless focus on conversion — every extra second of friction costs our partners revenue
- Design operator-facing dashboards that handle real complexity (inventory, scheduling, payments, reporting) without overwhelming the user
- Run user research with operators, instructors, and end customers — site visits, interviews, usability sessions
- Prototype quickly in Figma and validate ideas with engineering before we commit to building
- Partner with engineering on implementation, design QA, and continuous improvement
- Help us punch above our weight against larger competitors like FareHarbor, Peek Pro, and Checkfront
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
- 2+ years of product design experience, including B2B SaaS product
- A portfolio showing shipped work — not concepts. We want to see real products, real problems, real outcomes.
- Strong systems thinking: you can design a component once and have it work across 12 surfaces
- Expert with Figma (auto-layout, variants, libraries)
- Comfortable owning the full design process: research, IA, interaction, visual, prototyping
- Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to engineers, PMs, and executives
- Eye for craft — typography, spacing, motion, the small stuff
Strongly preferred:
- Experience designing checkout, booking, or transactional flows
- Experience with mobile (iOS or React Native) product design
- Experience designing for SMB operators (restaurants, hospitality, retail, services)
- Experience with AI Native experiences/Figma Make
- Background in or interest in the outdoor, travel, or hospitality industry
Nice to have:
- Experience building or scaling a design system from scratch
- Some illustration, branding, or marketing design chops
- Worked at an early-stage or fast-growing company before
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
