Salary Range:
Salary range for the position is $90,770 to $130,481. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
About the job:
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Strategic Business Consultant is responsible for maximizing value and minimizing risk in the relationships with Partners. The Consultant will work closely with their team and Manager and provide advice to Corporate Director and CFO/VP on strategies, risk and project/contract management and support IH program managers. This includes analyzing the market for contractual opportunities as well as managing issues related to partners and partner contracts already in place. The Consultant will support the program managers on strategic issues related to their contracts but will mainly focus on reorienting contracts and relationships from a financial model to a strategic model and on ensuring contractual accountability throughout the contract term.
Key issues for the Strategic Business Consultant will be issues of contractual due process, performance management, and relationships with partners.
Typical duties and responsibilities:
- Takes a leadership role in procurements, monitoring, and termination of contracts within specific portfolios (e.g., mental health, home and community care).
- Provides advice in the review and development of contract processes to ensure that new processes are strategically appropriate.
- Provides advice on the strategic implications of contractual decisions and on appropriate action regarding the procurement and termination policies.
- Develops strategic reports on the contract portfolio.
- Takes a lead role in project work as required, including reviews of the contract portfolio, review of market opportunities, and recommendations for change.
- Supports development and refinement of a performance management system for their contracts and projects.
- Responsible for making recommendations and, where appropriate, implementing change on issues of contractual compliance, including the development of criteria/information packages regarding issues such as change of ownership and subcontracting within contracts.
- Supports RFP evaluation and new contract negotiation.
- Supports complex starts and terminations in contracts.
- Key liaison with IH Corporate Directors, Directors and Partners on strategic issues.
- In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
