Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, providing expert maintenance and repair services for a variety of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with diesel engines, heavy machinery, and industrial equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety across our operations. This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse machinery including Semi Tractors, Semi Trailers, forklifts, and farm equipment, utilizing a broad skill set in automotive repair, welding, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel engines and heavy equipment such as semi trucks, trailers, skid steer, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and diagnostic software to identify issues and execute repairs efficiently
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment components
- Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes following maintenance or repair procedures
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe work environment
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with assembly and disassembly of industrial equipment during repairs or upgrades
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting on complex systems within heavy machinery
- Support customer service efforts by providing technical advice and updates on repair status when applicable
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment maintenance
- Dealership experience is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar, HVAC systems, electrical systems, schematics, and industrial equipment operation
- Hands-on experience with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various work environments
- Skilled in welding, fabrication, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs
- Familiarity with automotive repair techniques and maintenance procedures
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read technical schematics and manuals
- Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients or team members effectively
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when required for testing or operational purposes
