Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive repair, heavy equipment maintenance. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including , Truck, trailer, Combo vacs. The Heavy Diesel Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely, supporting our operations across various industries. Candidates with dealership experience and strong mechanical knowledge are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, heavy machinery, and industrial equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections to prevent breakdowns.
- Repair or replace components including electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and mechanical parts utilizing hand tools and power tools.
- Weld or fabricate parts as needed to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
- Interpret technical schematics and manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues effectively.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Assist in the assembly or disassembly of large machinery during repairs or upgrades.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status and recommendations clearly.
Skills
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy diesel engines and industrial equipment.
- Proficiency with schematics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, welding, and fabrication techniques.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair principles combined with mechanical expertise in farm machinery and power tools usage.
- Experience with heavy lifting techniques and the use of hand tools and power tools for repairs.
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures for HVAC systems and electrical components on heavy machinery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently using technical manuals or schematics.
