About the Role:
This is not a clean, corporate desk job. This is a gritty, physically demanding, safety-sensitive trade designed for individuals who take pride in hard work and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. No prior pest control experience is required—we provide 100% of your technical training and paid licensing.
You will be managing commercial and residential routes, solving pest issues under tight time frames. Because you will be directly advising worried homeowners and demanding commercial facility managers on chemical safety and regulations, fluent verbal English communication skills are our absolute number one requirement.
The Physical Reality of the Job:
- Extreme Weather: You will be on your feet outside servicing large commercial perimeters in extreme summer heat and freezing Alberta winters.
- Challenging Spaces: You will routinely get on your hands and knees in hot restaurant kitchens or squeeze behind tight, unventilated warehouse racking.
- Gritty Work: You must be mentally prepared to handle the unpleasant physical realities of the trade, including retrieving heavy rodent captures.
- Mandatory Gear: You must be comfortable working at a fast pace while wearing steel-toed boots and mandatory long-sleeve protective uniform shirts in all temperatures.
What We Provide:
- Company Service Vehicle & Phone: Fully equipped, dispatched from home daily (all gas and maintenance covered).
- Fully Funded Licensing: We pay for all study materials, provide paid training hours, and Lakeland College exam fees to get you certified. Upon passing the Alberta Structural Exam, your pay automatically increases to $25.00/hour.
Required Qualifications & Aptitude:
- Fluent Verbal English: Ability to communicate complex safety instructions clearly and confidently to demanding customers under pressure.
- Physical Stamina & Grit: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in extreme hot/cold environments, climb ladders, and handle tight spaces.
- Academic Discipline: Capability to study technical manuals and safety math to pass a rigorous provincial exam.
- Clean Driving Record: Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License (Non-GDL preferred) with a clean abstract.
