Wayne Johnston Autobody is an MPI-accredited collision repair and mechanical facility located just 7 minutes east of Winnipeg (near the Perimeter & Dugald Road). As we continue expanding our mechanical services, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Automotive Mechanic to join our growing team.
Position: Automotive Mechanic / Auto Glass Technician
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Springfield, MB (not in Winnipeg; must have own transportation)
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and repair light vehicle mechanical issues, including engines, suspension, brakes, steering, and electrical concerns.
- Diagnose damages based on customer symptom reporting.
- Assess and identify collision-related mechanical damage.
- Perform 4-wheel alignments (training available if needed).
- Repair and maintain shop equipment, including tractors, mowers, and other small engines
- Occasionally interact with customers for simple assessments (e.g., checking stone chips or minor concerns).
- Provide courteous, friendly, professional communication in all customer interactions.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in general automotive repair.
- Strong diagnostic skills and confidence in troubleshooting.
- Experience in windshield repair or autobody repair considered an asset (training provided).
- Experience with wheel alignments considered an asset (training available).
- Must be polite, friendly, and comfortable with brief customer interactions.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Own tools are an asset, but not required.
