We are currently recruiting for a private female employer who needs a fragrant-free care aide who is also calm and focused to assist with all activities of daily living.
She enjoys a variety of different activities including music, dance, film and playing cozy video games. This employer is interested in sociology , vintage fashion and architecture and design.
The ideal candidate will need to be scent free including no perfumes, scented deodorants, scent free laundry detergent and personal care items as well as no smoking or vaping of any kind.
They will also need to be able to communicate competently in English, oral and written form and you must have a calm personality.
Location:
- Victoria (near Pioneer Square)
Shifts:
- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays:
- 9:30pm to 11:30pm
- Sundays:
- 11:30am to 4:30pm and 9:30pm to 11:30pm
- Alternating Saturdays (Every second Saturday):
- 11:30am to 2:30pm and 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Personal care (including but not limited to): showering, bathing, grooming, dermatological and eye care routines, oral hygiene, dressing, putting on AFOs
- Stand-by assist for physical transfers
- Meal preparation and cueing for eating and drinking
- Housekeeping/Cleaning (including but not limited to): Kitchen: clean up after every meal; wash dishes; wipe counters and stove; load, run and unload dishwasher; scrub kitchen sink; Bathroom: clean bath/shower/sink/toilet to maintain sanitation, vacuum and mop floors for allergy management; Laundry and Linens: wash, fold and put away clothes and towels; change bed sheets; Take out garbage/recycling; Dust open surfaces; Check wheelchair tire pressure and pump tires
- Medication administration, including applying prescriptions ointments, and monitoring prescriptions
- Assistance getting to medical appointment and physio as well as running the occasional errands

Required Qualifications:
- New HCA graduates welcome
- Must have previous Caregiver experience with disabled adults and must be able to detail that experience, you will be asked.
- You must be focused and calm during shifts
- Must be comfortable working in an environment with cats
- Must be able to cook and have safe cooking skills
- Must be able to communicate competently in English, in oral and written form, and understand written and oral instructions
- Comfortable doing a Criminal Record Check
- Must exercise high standards of sanitation before personal care tasks and handling food
- Must respect Employer’s gluten-free, smoke-free, and low/no scent environment (avoid use of scented personal care products and clothing laundered in scented detergents)
- Must provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations for Covid-19 and influenza
- You must be scent free (no perfumes, scented deodorants, scent free laundry detergent and personal care items)
Assets:
- Class 5 driver’s license and comfortable driving the client is an asset but not required
