Community Support Workers work with people to pursue activities in the community based on individual interests, gifts, and defined goals. This role supports people to become active members of the community discovering and engaging with places of belonging. Inclusive in this role are the following:

SALARY: $27.53
Knowledge & Skills:
Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and ability to promote community integration in active environments.

This position is supporting the people served in one-to-one settings.

Accessing community centres, swimming, and participating in outdoor activities.

The ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently is essential.

Experience and specialized training related to autism, medical needs and/or challenging behaviours is an asset.

Knowledge and ability to use alternative communication systems would be an asset.

Knowledge of the principles of Person-Centered Thinking and Planning preferred.

Working knowledge of computers/mobile apps is necessary.
Qualifications for this position include:
Graduation from a Community College with an appropriate diploma or certificate in Human Services OR an equivalent of education and experience.
Current First Aid & CPR, TB screen/self assessment, Vaccination/Immunization status disclosure.
A valid unrestricted BC Class 5 Driver’s License and use of personal vehicle required.
