Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-time Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for patient care and a strong interest in medical administration. The successful candidate will support daily clinic operations, assist patients, and ensure smooth workflow within the medical office environment. Prior hospital experience and familiarity with medical terminology are highly valued, along with skills in medication administration and patient care. Responsibilities
- Welcome and register patients, ensuring accurate demographic and health information is maintained.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and provide administrative support to the healthcare team.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.
- Set up and prepare equipment and supplies for clinical procedures, including ear irrigation (ear flushing), oral swab testing, specimen collection, and other in-office procedures as directed.
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms prior to patient appointments.
- Assemble and organize vaccine trays, ensuring all required supplies, documentation, and vaccines are prepared and readily available for physician use.
- Prepare and pre-draw vaccines in accordance with clinic protocols, manufacturer guidelines, and safety standards.
- Monitor vaccine inventory, storage temperatures, and expiration dates to maintain compliance with public health requirements.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures by ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and patient documentation are available.
- Accurately document immunizations, procedures, and patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain cleanliness, infection control standards, and proper stocking of examination and procedure rooms.
- Process referrals, laboratory requisitions, and other clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support efficient and high-quality patient care.
Skills
- Previous hospital or clinical experience preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Knowledge of medication administration processes is a plus
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient care excellence
Pay: $18.50-$20.00 per hour
