Symmetry Landscaping is a premium landscape design, build, and maintenance company serving residential, commercial, strata, and development clients throughout the Okanagan.
We are seeking a skilled Landscaper who values quality over shortcuts and takes ownership of their work. This is a craft-focused position for individuals who want to grow within a professional, performance-driven team. You will work on projects that demand attention to detail, technical competence, and strong customer focus.
Installation Excellence
· Execute landscape construction with precision and care.
· Install hardscape systems (pavers, retaining walls, stairs, patios) to engineered specifications.
· Install softscape materials with proper soil prep, spacing, and finishing detail.
· Assist with irrigation system installation and diagnostics.
· Ensure clean, polished site presentation at all times.
Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators for site preparation and landscaping projects
- Install and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscapes
- Use hand tools and power tools for planting, edging, and other landscaping tasks
- Assist with construction projects such as retaining walls, patios, or pathways
- Conduct routine maintenance on landscaping equipment and machinery
- Apply horticultural principles to promote healthy plant growth and sustainability
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute landscape designs effectively
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations and maintenance activities
Skills
- Experience with excavators, mechanical knowledge, and construction techniques
- Proficiency in gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance practices
- Ability to operate hand tools (shovels, rakes) and power tools (trimmers, blowers) safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and repair
- Strong understanding of plant care, soil health, and environmental considerations
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Good physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Driver's License and Record Checks
A current and valid BC Driver’s License is a requirement of this position. The license must not include any restrictions that would affect the ability to legally and safely carry out job responsibilities.
