The Opportunity: Sault College is seeking experienced electricians who want to share their industry knowledge and help apprentices develop the technical skills, practical ability, and professional standards required in today's electrical industry.
Instruction may be assigned within the Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A) and/or Industrial Electrician (442A) apprenticeship programs.
What You'll Teach
Instruction may take place across one or more areas, including:
- Electrical theory, Canadian Electrical Code, and blueprint interpretation
- Residential, commercial, and industrial wiring methods and installations
- Motors, motor controls, and industrial electrical systems
- Electrical testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostic techniques
- Safe work practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable electrical safety legislation
Courses combine classroom instruction with practical shop and lab learning aligned with Skilled Trades Ontario curriculum standards.
What We're looking For
We are seeking individuals who:
- Hold a Certificate of Qualification as a Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A) and/or Industrial Electrician (442A)
- Have relevant industry experience in electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or industrial systems
- Can explain technical concepts clearly and connect theory to practical application
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and industry best practices
- Have effective communication and interpersonal skills
The following are considered assets:
- Red Seal endorsement
- Previous teaching, mentoring, or apprenticeship training experience
- Experience with industrial automation, PLCs, or control systems
- Supervisory or leadership experience
- Experience using digital learning technologies
Instruction is assigned based on your trade background and area of expertise.

- Maintain accurate academic records and meet College deadlines
- Promote and maintain a safe learning environment
- Collaborate with faculty, technicians, and College staff to support student success

Schedule: Part-time, contract-based; hours vary by assignment
