Role Overview
The Estimator provides specialized estimating services for commercial window, glazing, and building envelope projects. This role prepares accurate cost estimates and proposal packages by reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
Estimating & Cost Development
· Review architectural drawings, tender documents, specifications, and addenda to determine project scope.
· Perform detailed material takeoffs for window, glazing, and building envelope systems.
· Obtain supplier and vendor pricing for materials, hardware, and specialty components.
· Prepare labour estimates for fabrication and installation based on industry standards or agreed-upon assumptions.
· Develop complete costing models for tendered, negotiated, and design‑assist projects.
Bid Preparation & Proposal Support
· Prepare bid submissions, including pricing sheets, clarifications, inclusions/exclusions, and supporting documentation.
· Provide recommended pricing strategies or risk considerations for each tender.
· Submit completed estimates in agreed‑upon formats and timelines.
Qualifications & Experience
· 3–5+ years of estimating experience in glazing, fenestration, construction, or related fields.
· Strong ability to interpret architectural drawings, elevations, and specifications.
· Proficiency with estimating software, Excel-based costing tools, and digital takeoff platforms.
· Experience with commercial glazing systems, curtainwall, window wall, or building envelope components (preferred).
· Ability to produce accurate estimates under tight deadlines.

Pay: $65,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Elmira, ON N3B 3L4
