Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician / Mechanic (Level 3 or 4 Apprentice) to join our growing team in Burnaby, BC.
The successful candidate will have strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills and be comfortable working independently in a busy, fast-paced automotive shop. A Canadian Automotive Service Technician certification is preferred; however, candidates with equivalent international automotive certifications and proven hands-on experience are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must have solid experience with engine diagnostics, suspension and steering repairs, engine and transmission removal and installation, and timing belt and timing chain replacement.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs
- Diagnose engine performance, electrical, and drivability concerns
- Complete suspension and steering repairs
- Remove and install engines and transmissions
- Replace timing belts and timing chains
- Perform brake inspections, repairs, and maintenance
- Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment effectively
- Complete routine maintenance services, including fluid and filter replacement
- Test-drive vehicles when required to verify concerns and completed repairs
- Clearly communicate repair findings and recommendations to service advisors and management
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and shop standards
Qualifications
- Level 3 or Level 4 Automotive Service Technician apprentice, or equivalent experience
- Canadian Automotive Service Technician certification is preferred
- International automotive certifications will be considered with relevant hands-on experience
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience performing major mechanical repairs
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Valid driver’s licence is preferred
- Own tools are considered an asset
