About Us
We are a busy, growing landscape supply center located just 1 km north of Devon. We pride ourselves on a straightforward, hardworking team environment and providing top-tier delivery services to our residential and commercial contracting clients across the region.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced, safety-focused Class 3 Driver to operate our heavy fleet vehicles. This is a dynamic local delivery role where you will switch between operating our large knuckle boom crane truck (for palletized and rigged materials) and our tandem-axle dump trucks (for hauling bulk soils, mulches, and aggregates).
When you aren't on the road making deliveries, you will support the yard by assisting with loading operations using wheel loaders and keeping the yard running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Fleet Operation: Safely operate Class 3 commercial vehicles, including a large knuckle boom crane truck and standard tandem-axle dump trucks.
- Material Deliveries: Deliver bulk aggregates, soil, mulch, and palletized landscape supplies directly to tight residential driveways and commercial construction sites.
- Boom & Crane Operation: Safely rig, hoist, and precisely place heavy landscape products using the knuckle boom crane, always conducting proper on-site hazard assessments (overhead wires, underground utilities, soft ground).
- Compliance & Maintenance: Complete thorough commercial pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections. Ensure strict adherence to National Safety Code (NSC) regulations, securement laws, and legal axle weight limits.
- Yard Support: Assist with loading your own truck and supporting general yard inventory management using heavy equipment (loaders/skid steers) when required.
What We Are Looking For
- Licensing: Valid Class 3 Driver’s License (or Class 1) with an Air Brake (Q) endorsement.
- Commercial Driving Experience: Minimum [e.g., 2 years] of experience driving tandem trucks or similar heavy commercial chassis.
- Equipment Experience: Prior experience operating a knuckle boom, picker, or truck-mounted crane is highly preferred. Experience operating wheel loaders or skid steers is a strong asset.
- Clean Abstract: A commercial driver's abstract with minimal demerits.
- Professionalism: A reliability-first mindset, great communication skills when dealing with on-site customers, and strong attention to detail regarding load securement and tarping.
What We Offer
- Highly competitive hourly pay based on commercial driving and boom experience.
- Local routes only—steady daytime hours and home every single night.
- A supportive, down-to-earth team environment with well-maintained equipment.
- [Insert any other perks, e.g., Overtime opportunities, employee discount, etc.]
