Overview
We are seeking a reliable and responsible Bus Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation services. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, seniors, or diverse passenger groups, and possess excellent communication skills. This role is essential for ensuring the safety, comfort, and punctuality of all passengers, including students, seniors, and community members. Multilingual abilities, especially in Spanish and English, are highly valued to serve a diverse clientele. Duties
- Safely operate buses and other commercial vehicles according to traffic laws and company policies
- Transport passengers to designated locations such as schools, senior centers, or community events
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support for those with mobility challenges or special needs
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle interior and exterior
- Follow scheduled routes and adhere to time schedules to ensure punctuality
- Communicate effectively with passengers, staff, and dispatchers regarding route changes or delays
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Uphold safety protocols at all times, including proper use of safety equipment and adherence to traffic regulations
- Keep accurate records of trips, passenger counts, and any incidents or maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement preferred
- Experience working with children, seniors, or in customer service roles is a plus
- Multilingual skills in Spanish and English are highly desirable to serve diverse communities
- Strong communication skills for interacting effectively with passengers and team members
- Mechanical knowledge helpful for basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance awareness
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and responsibility
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed
- Prior teaching or caregiving experience is advantageous but not required
- Good writing skills for maintaining accurate logs and reports
