Job Summary
As a Lead Carpenter, you will play a pivotal role in our construction projects bringing your expertise in carpentry and construction to the forefront. We are seeking a skilled hands on lead Carpenter for our commercial construction projects. You will serve as the primary on-site representative, managing a crew of carpenters and subcontractors while performing hands-on high-end carpentry. Your experience and leadership will drive projects forward, from framing to finishing touches, while maintaining safety and efficiency on-site.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee carpentry projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to blueprints specifications and building codes.
- Perform advanced rough and finish carpentry, including framing, trim, millwork, and installation of doors and windows.
- Lead and mentor a team of carpenters, providing guidance on techniques and best practices.
- Provide regular progress updates to Project Managers and maintain professional, clear communication with clients.
- Calculate material requirements, create material lists, and coordinate timely deliveries with suppliers.
- Communicate well with team of carpenters, on-site subcontractors and project managers.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various tasks.
- Conduct thorough inspections of work completed to ensure quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with other trades on-site including plumbing, electrical work, and masonry to ensure seamless project execution.
Basic qualifications
- Proven experience in the construction industry (Min 10-15 Years experience) with a focus on carpentry.
- Have and demonstrate competency with a wide and versatile set of carpentry skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Strong physical ability for heavy lifting (50kg) and working in various weather conditions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred qualifications
- 10+ years experience in commercial construction industry.
- Knowledge of wood framing, concrete, and general carpentry techniques.
- Background in new and renovation projects.
- Familiarity with managing construction tasks.
