Accounting Manager
Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 + annual performance bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Model: Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Location: Toronto, Ontario (requires occasional travel and travel for training)
Role Overview
An experienced Accounting Manager is required to oversee full-cycle accounting operations within a growing, mission-driven organization. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, fund accounting, and supporting donor-advised fund operations.
The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient accounting professional with strong corporate experience who can operate independently with minimal supervision. Non-profit experience is not required but fund accounting exposure is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle accounting including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close
Prepare financial statements, cash flow analysis, and budgets
Oversee donor-advised fund accounting including donations, grants, fees, and investment activity
Manage accounts payable, banking, and HST filings
Support investment accounting and reporting activities
Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors
Maintain internal controls, documentation, and financial compliance
Identify and implement process improvements
Supervise 1 accounting staff member
Requirements
CPA designation required
7–10 years of full-cycle accounting experience
Strong fund accounting experience (non-profit exposure an asset, not required)
Experience with investment accounting and market-based reporting
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop/NFP) and advanced Excel
NetSuite experience preferred (Sage 300 acceptable)
Strong corporate accounting background required
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
