Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Line Setter to establish accurate grades, lines, and forms for concrete pours on residential and commercial job sites. This role is critical to ensuring our finished work meets exact specifications for slope, elevation, and alignment. We are looking for and individual specializing in flatwork, curb and gutter, site development, etc.
Responsibilities
- Set and check string lines, stakes, and grade pins to establish accurate elevations and slopes for concrete pours
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grading specifications
- Operate laser levels, transits, and other surveying equipment to verify grade
- Set forms for curbs, sidewalks, driveways, slabs, and other concrete structures according to plan
- Communicate with crew leads and finishers to ensure lines and grades are followed during the pour
- Make adjustments to lines and forms as needed to correct for drainage, slope, or site conditions
- Inspect completed formwork for accuracy before pours begin
- Maintain and calibrate leveling equipment
- Follow all job site safety protocols
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience setting lines and grades on concrete construction projects
- Working knowledge of laser levels, transits, and grading tools
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and site plans
- Strong understanding of drainage, slope, and elevation principles
- Attention to detail and precision under time constraints
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver's license (preferred)
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods
Preferred
- Experience with concrete curb machines or slip-form equipment will be considered an asset.
