Job purpose
Ironworkers fabricate, construct and connect structural steel buildings and miscellaneous steel works. They erect structural steel components on both new projects and sometimes perform reconstructive and reinforcing works on existing structures.
You are an Ironworker with experience to support us on commercial and industrial projects. You will be an integral part of the GFL team working on multiple active construction projects, as part of our Field Team. This is a full-time position, reporting to GFL project Field Foremen, with the majority of projects located in and around the City of Calgary.
Duties and responsibilities
· Read erection drawings/ blueprints and specifications to lay out the work
· Must know crane signals
· Utilizing Aerial work platforms
· Install other structural miscellaneous metalwork such as rails, stairs, handrails, roof supports, ladders, and platforms.
· Ensures the safety of the crew, equipment, and environment
Skills and Qualifications
· Require to be a registered apprentice in Ironworker or Welder
· Prefer a Journeyperson Ironworker certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman with a recognized provincial training authority
· Current and valid training and certification in AWP operation
· Current and valid training and certification in Fall Protection
· All Field Employees to have Basic Ironworker Tools
- Valid and current CWB certification is an asset
Pay: $25.00-$38.00 per hour
