Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Arborist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and caring for trees, shrubs, and other landscape elements, ensuring safety, health, and aesthetic appeal. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires a strong understanding of horticulture practices, safety procedures, and specialized equipment operation. The Arborist will play a vital role in landscape maintenance projects and tree health assessments, contributing to the overall beauty and safety of our clients' properties.
Responsibilities
- Conduct tree pruning, trimming, and removal using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Perform rigging operations to safely lower large branches or trees during removal or maintenance
- Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts to access elevated areas safely and efficiently
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, mulching, and soil conditioning
- Perform health assessments of trees and recommend appropriate treatment or removal strategies
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during operations to prevent accidents or injuries
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition through regular inspections and cleaning
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards
Skills
- Proficiency in rigging techniques for safe tree removal and branch lowering
- Experience operating bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment (bucket operation)
- Strong background in horticulture principles and landscape maintenance practices
- Ability to perform landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, and soil management
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to arboriculture work environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in assessing tree health and hazards
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including lifting heavy loads when necessary
