Hours of Work
This is a full-time salaried position. The Residence Supervisor is expected to work primarily Monday through Friday; however, flexibility is required to meet the operational needs of the residence. Evening, weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities may be required to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and to provide leadership support to staff.
Position Overview
Willow Harbour is a children’s residence that provides a safe, therapeutic, and nurturing home environment for children and youth between the ages of 0-13. Our team is committed to providing relationship-based and trauma-informed care that promotes healing, resilience, life skills, and positive outcomes.
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and skilled professional to join our Children's Residence Care team as the Residencial Supervisor.
The residence supervisor is responsible for the daily operation, supervision, and leadership of Willow Harbour Children’s Residence. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Residence Supervisor ensures the home operates in accordance with the child, youth and family services act (CYFSA), MCCSS licensing standards, and Willow Residence Children’s Residence policies and procedures.
The Residence Supervisor provides direct supervision to Child and Youth Workers, promotes a safe and therapeutic living environment, supports individualized care for each child, and ensures that consistent delivery of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, relationship-based care. The role serves as the on-site leader of the residence, promoting accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and high standards of care while maintaining a home where every child feels safe, valued, and supported.
We are seeking a candidate with one or more of the following qualifications:
- Child and Youth Care (CYW) Diploma or Degree
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
- Developmental Services Worker (DSW)
- Bachelor or Diploma in relevant social service
- Indigenous Studies with direct child and family support experience
- Other related post-secondary education in Human Services
Equivalent education combined with extensive residential or child and youth support experience will also be considered.

- Group Living programs
- Treatment foster care
- Children's Aid Society (CAS) settings
- Youth justice programs
- Mental health services for children and youth
- Autism and developmental services
- Behavioural support programs
- Schools supporting students with exceptional needs
- Indigenous child and family wellbeing organizations
Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge of:
- Trauma-informed care
- Therapeutic relationship building
- Behaviour management and positive behaviour support
- Crisis prevention, intervention, and de-escalation
- Child development
- Mental health and emotional regulation
- Cultural safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Professional boundaries and ethics
- Documentation and report writing
Experience with Behaviour Support Plans, Safety Plans, Individual Plans of Care, and Goal Planning is highly desirable.
Candidates should possess or be willing to obtain:
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- Valid Broad Sector Check
- Child welfare check
- Crisis intervention Training
- Valid Ontario Driver's License (Class G)
- 3-year certified driving record
