We are currently looking for a friendly, motivated, and detail-oriented Preliminary Technician to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, loves learning new skills, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Position Overview
As a Preliminary Technician, you will play an important role in supporting the patient journey from start to finish. You will assist with preliminary and diagnostic testing, help maintain smooth clinic operations, and work closely with doctors and team members to deliver outstanding patient care.
This role also offers the opportunity to expand your skills and cross-train in other areas of the clinic, including:
- Endoret treatments
- Front desk coordination
- Frame adjustments and repairs
- Framestyling and optical support
We are looking for someone eager to grow within the practice and become a valued part of the team.
ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Interaction
- Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone with warmth and professionalism
- Help patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their visit
- Support doctors, staff, and visitors during daily clinic operations
Preliminary & Diagnostic Testing
- Perform preliminary testing including:
- Autorefraction
- Tonometry / IOP
- OCT imaging
- Retinal imaging
- Visual acuity testing
- LipiScan
- Blood pressure screening
- Neurolens testing
- Health history intake
- Visual field testing
- Accurately document test results in patient records
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and functioning properly
Clinic Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional testing area
- Assist with showroom tidiness and shared spaces
- Help with opening and closing clinic duties
- Restock supplies including drops, masks, oils, and testing materials
- Notify management when inventory is low
Team Support
- Collaborate with doctors and team members throughout the day
- Assist the front desk team when needed
- Attend weekly staff meetings and ongoing training
- Stay up to date on new technology and testing protocols
