PAYROLL SPECIALIST
Permanent – Full-Time | Reports to: Controller
The team
At Eidos-Montréal, the Finance and Human Resources team plays a central role in supporting studio operations. Our Payroll team works closely with HR, Finance, and production managers to ensure the accuracy and compliance of every payroll cycle. We value rigour, discretion, and a service-oriented mindset toward our colleagues.
What you will do
- Independently execute the full payroll processing cycle for all employees in Quebec (approximately 240 employees), in accordance with established procedures, organizational policies, and applicable legislation;
- Update payroll system data, including hires, transfers, changes in employment conditions, salary increases, terminations, and the issuance of Records of Employment (ROEs);
- Review timesheets by performing required validations related to data entry, project allocation, and supervisor approval;
- Coordinate benefits administration processes, including the management of group insurance accounts (Blue Cross) and the group retirement savings plan (RRSP – Sun Life), in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external providers;
- Perform various financial analyses related to payroll and employee benefits, and assist with the monthly close process, including the preparation of accrual entries;
- Manage year-end payroll activities, including the review and submission of tax slips and the preparation of required government reports;
- Maintain audit-ready documentation in compliance with applicable laws and internal policies, and provide professional advice on tax regulations in non-routine or legislative change contexts.
What you bring
- University diploma or DEC in Accounting;
- 5+ years of experience in payroll administration;
- Experience with payroll software;
- Knowledge of laws and regulations related to payroll and benefits administration;
- Strong proficiency in Excel;
- Bilingualism in French and English, oral and written;
- Rigour, attention to detail, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
Even better if you have
- CPA designation;
- Experience with Dayforce and/or Namely;
- Knowledge of the video game industry.
