Position Overview
We are looking for a strong instructional designer who enjoys creating engaging learning experiences.
Working collaboratively within a cross-functional team, the successful candidate will analyze training needs, research and synthesize information from a variety of sources, and design high-quality learning solutions for diverse audiences. This role requires someone who enjoys transforming complex information into clear, engaging content and storyboards for a variety of virtual learning formats, including eLearning, virtual instructor-led training (VILTs), and webinars.
The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while consistently delivering high-quality work.
Note: Preference will be given to bilingual candidates (English and French).
Responsibilities
- Analyze clients' training needs, define project scope, identify target audiences, and determine learning objectives.
- Conduct research and gather information from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), client documentation, and other reference materials.
- Analyze and synthesize technical or complex information into learner-focused training content.
- Write original learning content from first principles and/or adapt existing content for a variety of virtual learning formats, including eLearning, VILTs, and webinars.
- Develop engaging instructional strategies, learning activities, and interactive storyboards.
- Write dialogue-based voiceover and video scripts.
- Collaborate with SMEs throughout the design and development process to validate content and ensure technical accuracy.
- Source, edit, or collaborate on the development of graphics and visual assets that support learning.
- Develop effective validation tools, including quizzes, scenarios, simulations, and other learner assessments.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews on all training materials prior to delivery.
- Provide regular project updates and communicate any risks or issues that may impact timelines.
Requirements
Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience designing and developing online learning solutions.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong verbal communication abilities.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to transform technical or complex information into engaging learning experiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to quickly learn new subject matter, processes, and technologies.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Preferred
- Ability to communicate and write in French. Preference will be given to bilingual candidates (English and French).
Assets
- Familiarity with Articulate Storyline 360 or other eLearning authoring tools.
- Experience developing training for technical or professional audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Arts, Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or a related discipline.
