Overview
We are a fast-paced, Cardiology practice seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for our patients, managing the daily administrative flow of the clinic with efficiency and empathy.
Key Responsibilities:
Scheduling: Greet patients, manage a high volume of phone calls, triage urgent cardiac inquiries, and schedule consultations and follow-up diagnostic appointments.
Documentation & Triaging: Prepare, organize, and upload patient charts, consult notes, and diagnostic reports (e.g., Holter monitor data, ECGs, and Echo reports) into the EMR system.
Billing Administration: Process day-to-day billing, manage submissions, correct errors, and private insurance claims. Must be very familiar with OHIP billing.
Referral Management: Efficiently process incoming/outgoing physician referrals, ensuring all necessary clinical documentation is attached and tracked.
Clinic Workflow: Collaborate closely with cardiologists, technicians, and nursing staff as a team player to ensure a seamless clinical schedule and minimize patient wait times.
Qualifications & SkillsExperience: Minimum 2+ years as a Medical Secretary, ideally with Cardiology experience.
Education: Accredited Medical Office Administration program or equivalent practical experience.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR (experience with Accuro EMR is highly preferred) and standard office software.
Cardiology Knowledge: Strong familiarity with cardiac medical terminology, medications, and diagnostic procedures.Core Competencies: Exceptional multitasking abilities,self motivated and self learning with strong attention to detail under pressure, and a warm, empathetic communication style suited for cardiac patients.
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
