Advanced Equipment Inc. is a manufacturer of customed industrial freezer systems. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Drafter to join our team in Richmond, BC.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for preparing accurate 2D and 3D drawings for custom freezer equipment using SolidWorks. Based on layout drawings, design direction, and project requirements, the Mechanical Drafter will develop detailed drawings that support fabrication and assembly.
This is not a basic drafting role. The right candidate should be able to understand design intent, work through details, and produce clear, manufacturable drawings.
Responsibilities
- Create 2D and 3D drawings using SolidWorks
- Prepare part, sub-assembly, and assembly drawings for production
- Develop detailed drawings based on layouts, sketches, and design direction
- Revise drawings based on approved changes and production feedback
- Identify missing details or drawing issues before release
- Work closely with engineering, production, and shop teams
- Support drawing updates throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical design/drafting experience in manufacturing or custom equipment
- Strong SolidWorks skills
- Ability to understand design intent and develop detailed drawings independently
- Good understanding of sheet metal, fabricated structures, and assembly drawings
- Strong attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, and creative thinking
Preferred
- Experience in custom equipment or machinery manufacturing
- Mandarin is an asset

Pay: $68,000.00-$82,000.00 per year
