Summary
Join BRIMICH as an Automation Electro-mechanical Maintenance Technician in Brantford. In this vital role, you will ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of automated systems within our state-of-the-art facilities, supporting our mission to provide reliable logistics solutions.
This position will work 12-hour rotating continental shifts.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of ASRS, conveyors, and automation systems
- Diagnose PLC, VFD, sensor, and controls-related issues
- Lead complex repairs and equipment recovery efforts
- Support commissioning, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Independently performs and/or coordinates the completion of all required preventive and corrective maintenance required by the master Maintenance schedule including ASRS and conveyor systems.
- Diagnose & troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues in a timely manner.
- Inspect equipment for proper function and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records on equipment status.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support and maintain automated label applicators and print-and-apply systems.
- Responsible for the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health & safety standards, environmental regulations and local building code and bi-law requirements and all routine building maintenance and annual building inspections including preventative maintenance related to BRIMICH safety programs. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
- Reviews, prioritizes and performs company work orders on a daily basis to ensure completion of tasks and meeting BRIMICH deadlines.
- Coordinate the work of external contractors and ensures a clean workspace during completion of projects on-site.
- Assist in providing estimates of time and materials needed to complete repair and necessary materials and supplies to complete proposed projects for approval
- Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
- Available to carry out emergency maintenance work outside of normal working hours.
- Complies with all applicable codes, environmental/government regulations, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the Company’s SQF Program and commitment to a safe workplace for all.
- Provides excellent communication and partnership with the Warehouse Manager and SQF Specialist.
- Mentor and train junior technicians
- Performs other duties as assigned and works in compliance with Food Safety Programs.
Qualifications
- 5-8+ years of industrial or automation maintenance experience
- Certificate of Qualification (Millwright/Electrical) Red Seal 433A preferred
- Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
- PLC diagnostics experience (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred)
- Trade certification or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong analytical & critical thinking skills with the ability to problem-solve in stressful situations.
- Knowledge of safety standards and the effective and safe use of power tools.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and the effective and safe use of power tools.
- Must have good organizational skills, be a self-starter and a team player.
- Attention to detail and documentation.
- Experience in cold storage or food-grade environments preferred and fully capable of working in varying temperatures (Temperatures may range anywhere from 2°C to 15°C in most Brimich Warehouses and from 0°C to -30°C in Brimich Cold Storage buildings).

Pay: $40.00-$52.00 per hour
