Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Share Providers to offer supportive housing and care for individuals with disabilities in the Cowichan Valley, Nanaimo, and Central Island regions. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes independence and well-being. As a Home Share Provider, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for those in your care through personalized support and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive home environment tailored to each individual's needs.
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Administer medications accurately and on schedule as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Support individuals with communication needs, including those who use American Sign Language or other alternative methods.
- Implement individualized care plans that promote independence, social integration, and personal growth.
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication and active listening.
- Monitor health status and report any concerns or changes to healthcare providers or case managers.
- Engage individuals in community activities to encourage social participation and skill development.
Requirements
- Experience or training in special education or caregiving is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language or willingness to learn is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to administer medications safely and responsibly following prescribed instructions.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting individuals' independence and quality of life.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Flexibility to adapt to the unique needs of each individual and situation.
Pay: $2,000.00-$3,000.00 per month
