The Finishing Trades Institute of BC is looking for a motivated and experienced Wall and Ceiling installer to take on a full-time role as an instructor/Coordinator. The focus will be the delivery of the Lather apprenticeship classes. As an FTI Instructor/coordinator your duties will include:
- Instructing all 3 levels of the Lather ISM) apprenticeship Program.
- Instructing Introduction to Trades training recruitment classes at the FTI and throughout BC.
- Instructing safety training classes such as WHMIS 2015, Respiratory Protection, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift and counter balanced forklift, and ladder and scaffold.
- Developing daily lesson plans, and curriculum for apprenticeship classes, skills-based trades training and recruitment programs.
- Maintaining shop and safety equipment Mentoring apprentices and Journeypersons in developing and accelerating their skills in all aspects of the Lather trade
- Maintaining an orderly classroom and shop training area.
- Attending instructor upgrading and/or certification programs as required or deemed appropriate according to the instructor's annual professional development plan. (May include travel outside of BC and Canada)
- Representing the Training Centre at career fairs, trade shows, introductory trades training and recruitment classes, open houses and facility tours with government officials and employer representatives.
- Participating in Training Centre staff meetings, safety meetings and AGM Meetings.
- Attending industry meetings and other functions as requested by the Director of Training.
- Other unidentified duties pertaining to successful operations of the Training Centre
Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
