Sinai Health Foundation is seeking a dynamic, highly professional individual with outstanding interpersonal skills to fill the role of Director, Donor Experience. This role reports to the Vice President, Donor Experience & Brand Communications and works with a vibrant team responsible for the delivery of a world-class and industry-leading stewardship strategy.
The Director, Donor Experience will strategize, build, and execute a robust program through custom stewardship, experiential programming, and meaningful engagement with physicians, researchers and Sinai Health and Sinai Health Foundation leadership to deepen our donors’ engagement and connection to Sinai Health. They are responsible for developing a data-driven, evidence-based approach to measure impact and donor satisfaction through strong KPIs and gift renewal rate.
The Director collaborates across the Foundation and is a strategic partner to the Philanthropy Team and others in helping them to achieve their stewardship and fundraising goals. This highly motivated individual looks for new and innovative ways to delight our donors and is superb at working with high profile stakeholders and volunteers. They are a true relationship-builder and show strong leadership and ownership of their portfolio and projects. They are a senior member of the Donor Experience & Brand Communications team and help to lead, manage and shape the donor experience of the future.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create, implement and continuously improve a world-class donor experience strategy
- With the Vice President, Donor Experience & Brand Communications, develop strong KPIs and metrics to measure donor satisfaction and the impact of donor experience strategies and tactics
- Apply analytics and metrics to stewardship strategies including the oversight of the gift renewal report and development of a “lapse watch” list
- Help support and report to the Stewardship Council, a key committee of the Board of Directors
- Partner with the Philanthropy Team and others to develop effective, meaningful and custom stewardship plans for major donors to support gift renewal or cultivation strategies
- Develop strong relationships with physicians and researchers as partners in philanthropy and key contributors to donor stewardship activities;
- Partner with the Director, Brand Voice to drive innovation in digital and content engagement strategies to keep donors and informed about their area of care or showcase how they are having an impact
- Lead the strategy for all stewardship deliverables supporting all revenue teams at the Foundation which includes: group reporting, donor listing recognition, individual updates and touchpoints, events etc.
- Lead the annual planning session with revenue-generating teams to build out a comprehensive plan including the integration of the Communications pillar
- Act as a business partner lead for Foundation leadership and senior fundraisers bringing a strategic lens and ensuring service excellence
- Manage a team and develop a high-performing Donor Experience team to attentively and proactively provide custom stewardship that consistently exceeds expectations
- Enhance and promote working with the database to maintain records, ensure upkeep and retain data integrity
- Oversee processes; improve procedures, tracking and reporting.
Job requirements:
- Successful completion of a post-secondary certificate, degree or diploma; or acceptable equivalent experience
- A minimum of seven (7) of recent and related experience in large, dynamic non-profit fundraising environment, preferably in the health care sector, with demonstrated progression in role, responsibilities and supervisory experience
- Proven people management experience and strong leadership skills
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse constituencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Raisers Edge and an aptitude for data management and analysis
- Strong project management skills
- Self-motivated with a bias for action; ability to manage and successfully meet multiple, competing deadlines; able to anticipate and proactively respond to requests based on prior experience
- Ability to think strategically and practically to implement a comprehensive and results-oriented development plan
- Ability to work with sensitive information with absolute discretion and a high degree of integrity
- Diplomatic in managing expectations of a wide range of stakeholders
- Accuracy, attention to detail and a service oriented attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively and be a team player
- Competency in problem solving
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment
- Due to the nature of the work, some evenings and weekends will be required

This position has a compensation range of $129,582 to $161,978. The hiring range is $129,582 to $141,381.
Sinai Health Foundation is a hybrid workplace, located in downtown Toronto. Currently, all employees are in-office on Tuesdays for the Foundation’s “anchor day”, as well as approximately 24 additional in-person corporate meetings, events or activities annually. Additional in-person requirements vary by team and job function. Our Workplace Flexibility policy is reviewed on a bi-annual basis to ensure the current state of hybrid work is meeting our organizational needs.
