Job Summary:
A Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, locate, stack, load, and unload products and materials within warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and construction sites. The role requires adherence to safety regulations, accurate inventory handling, and efficient material movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
- Transport materials to designated storage or production areas.
- Stack and organize products in racks, shelves, and storage locations.
- Inspect forklifts before and after use to ensure proper operation.
- Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and OSHA/company regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock management.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and shipments.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and warehouse procedures.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials when required.
- Basic math and record-keeping skills.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
