Location: Downtown Vancouver and Sea-to-Sky Corridor
Project Type: Hotel renovations, upgrades and special projects
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Foreman / Assistant Superintendent on behalf of our client, a well-respected, fully integrated developer, construction firm, real estate company and hotel operator.
This is a hands-on, growth-oriented opportunity for someone who is ready to take the next step toward becoming a Site Superintendent. The successful candidate may currently be working as a Handyman, Lead Hand, Working Foreman, Foreman or Assistant Superintendent and will have the opportunity to develop under experienced construction leadership.
The position will support hotel renovations and special projects across downtown Vancouver and the Sea-to-Sky Corridor. You will remain actively involved on the tools while helping coordinate trades, organize daily site activities and keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
This position is designed for growth. You do not need to arrive as a fully developed Superintendent. The client is looking for someone with strong practical construction knowledge, demonstrated site leadership and the ambition to take on greater responsibility over time.
As you progress, you will have the opportunity to become more involved in:
Supporting the daily coordination of hotel renovations and special projects
Completing hands-on repairs, deficiencies, carpentry and miscellaneous site work
Helping organize subcontractors, deliveries and day-to-day construction activities
Communicating with trades, consultants, hotel representatives and the project team
Maintaining safe, clean and professional sites, particularly in occupied hotel environments
Reviewing drawings and helping identify practical solutions to site challenges
Monitoring workmanship, project progress and completion of deficiencies
Supporting schedules, site documentation and project closeout
Taking increasing ownership of projects as you develop toward a Site Superintendent position
You are confident on the tools, comfortable taking the lead and interested in building a long-term career in site supervision. Your leadership experience may have been gained as a Lead Hand, Working Foreman, Foreman, Handyman or Assistant Superintendent.
The strongest candidates will bring:
Solid hands-on construction, renovation or building-maintenance experience
Experience leading workers, coordinating trades or directing site activities
Strong practical problem-solving skills and good construction instincts
The ability to communicate professionally with trades, clients and project teams
The flexibility to work across downtown Vancouver and the Sea-to-Sky Corridor
A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence
A positive attitude, personal accountability and a genuine interest in professional growth
Proximity to downtown Vancouver, the North Shore or the Sea-to-Sky Corridor would be considered an advantage.
This is an opportunity to join an established organization that develops, builds, owns and operates its properties. You will gain exposure to a range of hotel renovation and special-project work while learning directly from experienced construction professionals.
For someone who is skilled on the tools, has already demonstrated leadership on site and is ready for the next step, this role offers a genuine pathway into a full Site Superintendent position.
