We now have an exciting opportunity with a retirement home in Williams Lake, BC! All departments will be included so all experience is welcome.
Here is what we are looking for:
- Provides safe and respectful nursing care to an assigned group of residents according to established policies and procedures, in combination with evolving individualized care plans and setting care priorities.
- Receives and processes doctors’ orders according to policies and procedures. Transcribes orders onto appropriate patient/resident record and processes written orders as needed.
- Documents care provided such as assessments, status, progress, treatments, changes in condition, medications administered in manual and/or computerized environment.
- Dispenses and administers medications including narcotics (using eMAR system) as required, including oral, topical, subcutaneous injections and intramuscular injections according to established procedures and monitors medication’s effects. Maintains communication with RN or other members of the interdisciplinary team as required.
- Assesses and monitors residents’ actual and potential strengths and limitations including physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs. Records observations as per facility guidelines/format (e.g. MDS, Point Click Care, Pixalere), and reports any significant changes/problems in resident's condition such as mobility, temperature, skin integrity, appetite and/or behaviour, to RN. or Nurse-in-charge.
- Provides personal care to residents, such as assisting with toilet needs, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene and care of skin/nails, as well as transporting residents within the facility if necessary.
- Talented and passionate and reliable LPNs
- Are in good standing with your professional college
- Proof of professional liability protection
- ACLS and/ or Critical Care certificates are an asset
- Must be available to work Day, Evening, and Night shifts (both 8-hour and 12-hour shifts)
