Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Arborist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and caring for trees, shrubs, and other landscape elements to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, utilizing a range of tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, stump grinder etc to ensure safety and quality standards are met. The Arborist will play a vital role in landscape maintenance, tree pruning, planting, and removal projects, contributing to the overall health and beauty of our clients’ outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities
- Prune, trim, and shape trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth and safety.
- Plant new trees, shrubs, and other landscape elements according to project specifications.
- Remove hazardous or dead trees using appropriate climbing or mechanical techniques.
- Operate machinery such as excavators for large-scale planting or removal tasks.
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscape features.
- Conduct regular inspections of trees and plants to identify diseases or pest issues.
- Perform general landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, and mulching.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with construction projects related to landscape enhancement or infrastructure installation.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment used in arboriculture.
- Able to operate a standard transmission tree truck
- Strong understanding of plant health care, pruning techniques, and tree biology.
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting heavy loads and working at heights safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of arboriculture work.
