Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 Tanker Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating tanker trucks to transport liquids and other bulk materials across designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to transportation regulations, and excellent driving skills. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 tanker trucks for the transportation of liquids and bulk materials across various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, adhering to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on vehicles, including basic automotive repair tasks.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading cargo.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company transportation laws and safety regulations.
- Assist with freight handling and coordinate with warehouse or plant personnel as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior to promote safety and professionalism.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially with tanker trucks.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards related to bulk material transport.
- Basic automotive repair skills for routine vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely in various environments.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including loading/unloading cargo, lifting heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions.
