Job Overview
We are seeking experienced Long Haul Owner Operators and Short Haul Drivers to join our transportation team. This role involves operating commercial vehicles to transport freight across various distances, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. The position offers opportunities for independent work with a focus on efficiency, safety, and professionalism. Candidates must possess a valid commercial driver’s license and be committed to maintaining high standards of vehicle operation and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate large commercial trucks for long-distance or local freight deliveries
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance or repairs, including automotive repair skills when needed
- Operate heavy equipment as required for loading/unloading or other operational needs
- Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety regulations throughout the journey
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
- Experience in freight transportation, both long haul and short haul preferred
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance in transportation
- Excellent navigation skills and ability to plan efficient routes
- Good communication skills for coordination with dispatchers and clients
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments
Pay: $50,000.00-$153,397.50 per year
