Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Greenhouse Grower to join our dynamic team. The Grower will oversee crop production, manage climate and irrigation systems, and ensure optimal plant health and yield.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage crop growth, nutrition, and health across greenhouse zones.
- Implement and adjust climate control strategies using Hoogendoorn IIVO.
- Oversee irrigation; including strategy and nutrition.
- Collaborate with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) teams to identify and treat pest and disease issues.
- Maintain detailed records of crop performance, water testing (pH, EC), and fertilizer applications.
- Supervise greenhouse staff and coordinate daily tasks.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and pesticide regulations.
- Participate in greenhouse cleaning and disinfection at the start and end of crop cycles.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in greenhouse crop production (tomatoes/cucumbers preferred).
- Diploma or degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field is an asset.
- Familiarity with climate and irrigation control systems (e.g., Hoogendoorn).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Knowledge of IPM practices and food safety protocols.
