Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in masonry work, including laying bricks, blocks, and stone for various projects such as new constructions, renovations, and restorations. This role requires proficiency with hand tools and power tools, the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. The Brick Mason will play a vital role in delivering durable and aesthetically pleasing structures while adhering to project specifications and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, stone, and other masonry materials according to blueprints, schematics, and project plans
- Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to execute precise masonry work
- Operate power tools safely for cutting, shaping, and installing masonry units
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate construction layouts
- Assist with renovation and restoration projects by repairing or replacing existing masonry structures
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques to ensure weatherproofing and structural integrity
- Operate heavy equipment when necessary for material handling or site preparation
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment at all times
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to meet project timelines and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Brick Mason or in a similar construction/masonry role
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, schematics, and blueprint reading
- Knowledge of construction techniques related to masonry, renovation, restoration, and caulking
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when required
- Strong understanding of schematics and technical drawings for accurate execution of projects
- Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on craftsmanship and safety compliance
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
