Job duties:Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials; attend trade shows, showrooms, and product design events to identify new African beauty, haircare, and cosmetics merchandise opportunities. Select merchandise that best fits the company's requirements for resale by wholesale. Interview suppliers and negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements. Oversee distribution of merchandise to outlets and maintain adequate stock levels. Monitor inventory turnover and adjust purchasing strategy based on sales trends.
