If you’re a counsellor who cares deeply about your work and the way you practice—and you’ve built (or are building) a caseload that reflects that—Allius Counselling Services in Duncan and Nanaimo may offer the kind of professional home you’ve been looking for.
We are a relationally focused, well-established counselling clinic grounded in thoughtful, ethical care. We’re not a high-volume, referral-driven model. Instead, we partner with experienced clinicians who value autonomy, sustainability, and meaningful connection in their work.
We’re currently welcoming experienced counsellors, couple and family therapists, and clinicians working with children and families to join us as Associates in our Nanaimo locations.
A Practice Model That Respects Your Work
At Allius, we believe your practice is your own.
We work with clinicians who bring and grow their own client base—people who have developed a network, a reputation, or a clinical niche that they want to continue shaping in a supportive environment.
Our model is intentionally simple and transparent:
· You practice independently, in a way that reflects your values
· You maintain your own caseload and client relationships
· You retain your full fee and income
· You contribute a consistent monthly rental fee for space and shared support
This structure allows for clarity, stability, and full ownership of your work—without the unpredictability of percentage-based splits.
A Thoughtful Clinical Community
While your practice remains your own, you won’t be practicing in isolation.
Associates at Allius often describe the clinic as:
· Grounded, steady, and professionally run
· Transparent and respectful in how decisions are made
· Relational in culture, not hierarchical
· Supportive of depth in clinical work, rather than volume
We aim to offer a space where clinicians can feel both independent and connected—where conversations about practice, ethics, and growth happen naturally.
What You’ll Find Here
· Warm, furnished office spaces
· Administrative infrastructure, with optional billing support
· A strong, established presence that supports your visibility
· Opportunities for collegial connection and case consultation
· Optional supervision with a BCACC-approved supervisor and registered play therapist supervisor
While referrals may come through, this role is best suited for clinicians who are not relying on clinic-generated referrals to sustain their work.
Who This May Be a Fit For
You may find this model aligns if you:
· Are an RCC, CCC, or MSW (Clinical), eligible for registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
· Have an existing client base or a clear pathway for building one
· Value autonomy, while still appreciating thoughtful professional community
· Prefer a clear, fixed-cost structure over percentage-based arrangements
· Are committed to offering consistent, reliable availability to your clients
Experience with children, families, trauma, couples, or complex family systems is welcomed, though not required.
Flexible, Sustainable Arrangements
We offer both part-time (2+ days/week) and full-time access, with rental arrangements designed to support long-term sustainability—for you and for the clinic.
Next Steps
If this resonates, we’d be glad to connect.
Please apply with:
· A current CV
· A brief cover letter sharing your clinical focus, current or intended caseload, and what you’re hoping for in a practice setting
· Your registration status
Selected applicants will be invited to interview and review the Associate agreement before making any decisions.
We see this as the beginning of a conversation—one that respects your work, your clients, and the way you want to practice.
