GeoTrek Land Survey Ltd, a geomatics and engineering firm seeks a fulltime Junior Party Chief for work in the Fort McMurray and Edmonton area.
The right candidate will have 7+ years of experience in a party chief role and have experience working remote sites and settings. The position will include construction and legal surveying for Oil and Gas and maintaining a positive rapport with clients and project teams.
This is perfect opportunity for a self starter who enjoys working in remote settings on a wide variety of projects.
General Responsibilities:
- Lead a crew that conducts field surveys as defined by the project manager.
- Communicates effectively with the project manager and survey crew as well as client representatives and the general public when required.
- Provides comprehensive survey notes/sketches, computations, and data in support of all field surveys.
- Performs all health and safety duties as identified in the company's safety procedures.
- Ensures all company equipment and vehicles are properly operated and maintained.
- Skilled with the use of GPS, Total Stations, Underground Locators, and other survey equipment.
- Interprets plans / maps with respect to survey assignment.
Qualifications:
- Must have prior geomatics education or previous survey experience.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Willing and able to work outside in the field in all conditions.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Any valid safety certificates an asset (i.e. H2S, First Aid, CSTS, Wildlife Awareness).
- Physical fitness is important as the party chief must walk long distances carrying heavy survey equipment.

Pay: $35.00-$55.00 per hour
