About Us
OT Timber Frames designs and manufactures high-quality timber frame structures using a blend of traditional craftsmanship and advanced manufacturing technology. Our shop includes modern, high-precision equipment such as CNC machines and automated systems. We take pride in doing things right the first time and maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-run workspace.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on, mechanically minded Millwright to keep our equipment running smoothly and reliably. This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our production machinery and shop systems.
This is not a typical heavy-equipment mechanic role working on standard construction equipment. Our facility uses advanced manufacturing technology — including CNC machines, automated systems, and vacuum kilns — that require strong technical understanding and the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and control systems.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical ability and problem-solving skills — experience matters less than your understanding of how things work, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot shop equipment and machinery
- Service modern and high-tech equipment including CNC machines and automated systems
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues
- Install and set up new equipment as needed
- Keep detailed, clear maintenance logs and service records
- Maintain organized documentation, manuals, and procedures
- Work closely with production staff to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Continuously improve maintenance processes and reliability
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical understanding
- Excellent attention to detail
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with modern technology and computerized machinery
- Ability to work on advanced manufacturing equipment rather than traditional heavy construction machinery
- Ability to read manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
- Organized and diligent with record-keeping
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
Experience & Education
- Millwright experience or technical training is an asset, but knowledge and skill are more important than years of experience.
*Apprentices or early-career candidates with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply
Why Work With Us
- Work with advanced, interesting equipment
- Opportunities to grow and learn
- Competitive pay based on skill and ability
- Benefits package available after three months.
