Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

Our client in
York Region, ON is actively looking for an
Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team.
Position Description:
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including processing approximately 50–80 invoices daily
- Ensure invoices are processed and paid within established due dates
- Review and verify invoices for proper approvals, signatures, vendor details, and GL coding
- Perform three-way PO matching and accurately process invoices for payment
- Monitor and reduce invoice backlogs while maintaining timely processing standards
- Set up and maintain vendor accounts and files within the system
- Prepare and process cheque runs, including demand cheques as required
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies; perform account reconciliations and corrections
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve variances between invoices and approved payment amounts
- Sort, code, match, and maintain accurate filing of invoices and related documentation
- Assist with month-end closing activities and support the accounting team as needed
- Handle incoming calls and general inquiries via phone and email, directing as appropriate
Skills & Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting or accounts payable experience
- Experience handling full-cycle accounts payable in a high-volume environment
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle vendor inquiries and reconciliations
- Team-oriented with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships
- Solid numerical and analytical aptitude
